- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
- SYMPTOMS usually begin with chills, severe headache, prostration and muscle
- pain. Fever of 103 to 104 F. within 48 hours and then in about another 48
- hours there will be a pink rash that starts on the soles, ankles, palms,
- wrist and forearms and then extend to the trunk, buttock, neck, face and
- underarms. There may also be delirium, restlessness and insomnia.
- CAUSES are from rickettsiae, microscopic parasites that are borne by ticks.
- TREATMENT. Consult your doctor immediately.
- .Pneumonia, heart and brain damage may be avoided by early treatment.
- .Medication will be prescribed.
